Personality

Hollow, obliging and unargumentative
What needs to be done needs to be done, no answers needed. Hidde is known to be a blind follower of his brother's agreements, and will do whatever job Roan takes on their names. To some, it may seem like he has little to no personal interest in life itself, living as a blank slate into which Roan projects his emotions. The lack of questions he has made over his past and current life, turns him into the perfect henchman and weapon for his brother's purposes.

After his brother passed, Hidde struggled to find any purpose for his life. Now, as Claire ages by his side and he looks upon her like a father would to a daughter, the brute has sworn to do anything to protect her.

Unflappable and unflinching
Although he may give a different idea to those who haven't gotten to know him, it's actually almost impossible to get under Hidde's skin. His emotions being one of the few things he has complete control in life, making it easy for him to lock them away or to show only what he wants to, when he wants to. Some may see it as an admirable quality but, to those who might get to know him better (if there's such person with the exception of his brother), it sounds more like a curse: the absolute control he has over his feelings is, in reality, the lack of understanding of said emotions - for he learned to shut them down as he grew as the puppet of his brother.

Taciturn and stoic
Hidde may seem quite secretive, being one who barely talks or fraternizes. He's usually seen alone, when not in the company of Claire and/or Ranna, observing his surroundings with distant eyes, as if nothing is actually worth of his full attention. Probably walls he has built over time, given his childhood. With that, it is easy to assume that he's apathetic to others, making him a loner by nature.

Scheming, perceptive and opportunistic
To contradict his indifferent shell, there's barely anything that goes unnoticed by him. He's attentive to his surroundings and others' actions, taking great interest in their way of life or conversations. Anything that can be used against them in a different scenery. He's calculative and cunning, skills that were only refined with time, as he worked as a Mercenary.

Pre-Group History

Hidde was born as a bastard of a commoner wolf in a dying pack, plagued by a disease that killed all of his littermates. Hidde, however, was chosen by his father to be the one to be saved; and so he was. However, as he was taken in by a female who wasn't his mother (but the righteous mate of his father), Hidde was given to her only remaining son, Roan, as a way to maintain her dominance over Hidde's mother. The pup was too young to understand what it meant to be someone's guard and servant, which was the task that was given to him in that moment, but it didn't stop Roan, nor his mother, to train him to become Roan's blind follower.

Hidde never questioned such fate, and instead took the job as his only purpose in life. Hidde watched as one by one his half-siblings were slaughtered by their own brother until the illness fell upon each of them. Hidde recovered quickly, and as trained as he was to be Roan's servant, he managed to save his brother as well. But the pack who once stood there, supportive to them, had abandoned as soon as the disease spreaded, connecting it to a curse upon the land. The brothers then started their lives as loners, stealing from other loners whatever they could take. Their life included.

It didn't take long for the brothers realize what purpose they had in this world, and after a meeting with Alar, who had offered them a reward for completing a task. A merciless one. Roan took great passion in the job he was given and Hidde didn't seem to mind or be affected by it, though it was hard to say if he also felt any pleasure from it. But, in that moment, they started their lives as assassins for hire.

After Roan's death, Hidde took the decision to avenge his brother, imagining that this would be what Roan wanted him to do. He killed Lilith as he could not find Alar, but the brute could never imagine that her almost lifeless body would have enough strenght to give birth to four premature pups. Suddenly feeling guilt, Hidde decided to save one of them.

• Hidde is a silent killer. He barely gives any warning about his intentions until he has finally attacked his target. That is opposed to his brother's loud, maniac demeanour.
• He enjoys doing his job as quickly as possible, if given the chance to take his victims by surprise and barely giving them any chance to go through any pain as he takes their lives.
• Curiously, he takes no joy from killing others. But he doesn't seem to mind doing so, as this is the only thing he has ever learned to do his whole life.
• Hidde lacks understanding of oneself, and has never given his life any personal goal. He was born to be a follower, and so he is.
